Healing From Sexual Abuse Part 2

How is it possible to find healing when you’ve experienced sexual abuse?

If you haven’t yet watched my first video interview with Christa Achilles, do it now. She so beautifully exemplifies that powerful healing IS possible. Like most issues in life, the road to healing is multifaceted, involving different factors. In my second interview with Christa, she talks about these factors. The most crucial one is the opposite from what you often feel like doing. But it is crucial to being set free into a life of peace, joy, and love.

In order to heal from sexual abuse:

1. Realize that sexual abuse is part of your story that you must acknowledge, own, and grieve.

2. Find safe people you can talk to and who remind you of God‘s truth.

3. Work with a trained counselor toward your healing.

4. Tell your story to others of how God has healed and redeemed you.

5. Know that being beautifully broken is not weakness in Christ, it’s strong.

6. Work through The Wounded Heart book and workbook by Dan Allender.
