Overly-Fixated vs. Overly-Driven

Fun? Isn’t our hedonistic culture already overly-fixated on entertaining ourselves?

Yes, but many of us are overly -driven. Those of us who are super-committed to the work we do— who are diligent, determined, and dedicated—run the risk of pushing ourselves too hard for too long, depleting our inner resources.

We need the dopamine, endorphins, and other brain chemicals that are released when we are enjoying ourselves in order to restore our inner reserves. Then we can do our best work.
